Thread / Trådbilder
Color studies
The expression developed as a part of the preparation process for weaving. The textile surfaces represent colors and horizons in constant change, and how we as humans react to the changes. Threads are led in a specific order around different surfaces, for instance a canvas, MDF board, plexiglass, paperboard or other found objects. The quriosity for the project is how a grid system of threads can be experienced both rigidly and dynamically. The images require that the viewer moves to experience the color dynamics.

As the projects has developed, plant dye is introduced as a tool in the process when getting to know a new lanscape. Plants, flowers, mushrooms, lichen and food waste are used as coloring material. The harvesting, preparations and dying process functions as a research experiment where the outcome is uncertain. The natural color palette mirrors the surroundings creating an impression of a place.
